THE STORY

The Lord has blessed Anita Blewer with a tremendous gift for bringing canvas to life -- often with a touch of humor.

After raising five children and more than 20 years of work with horses, Anita moved to Charleston where she began painting and taking lessons from local artists. Her late husband, Larry, encouraged her to develop her interest into a new career.

As her skill grew, so did her love of capturing the beauty of the Lowcountry marshes and woodlands. Anita spends many hours in nature photographing scenic areas of Charleston, Beaufort, Hunting Island, and "Old Florida."

Anita's work took first place in the 2001 Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Artists' Exhibition and one of her nature series earned its home in the Artcolle collection at The Museum and Gallery of Collage in Serfines, France. A collection of her originals are on display at the Bostic Law Firm, PA; Governor Beasley's office;North Charleston Mayor's collection and in the Sanctuary in Kiawah Island. Several of her landscapes have been featured on set in the television series "Army Wives". Anita has been recognized with numerous awards from other organizations and events. â€‹

Although her work is appreciated by collectors all over the world, her greatest fans remain her family. Her children are always ready to help wherever they are needed. â€‹

You can commision Anita today to paint your homestead or your favorite lowcountry landscape.
